History of Casabermeja

Casabermeja dates back to prehistoric times, with human settlements from the Neolithic and Copper Ages. During Roman rule, it was a strategic fortification known as «Castrum Bermiae.»

The village flourished under Visigoth and later Muslim rule, becoming an important defensive stronghold. Conquered by Christian troops during the Reconquista in 1487, Casabermeja experienced depopulation but was later revitalised in the 19th century, entering a period of prosperity.
